50 Cent officially announced that he has a new Netflix-produced documentary filing allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Media Take Out learned that 50 Cent first announced his deal with the streaming giant in May after teasing the project for several months. Now Netflix has confirmed this project.
During a recent interview with Enthusiast Report, 50 Cent explained why he believes he's the best person to do the doc on his longtime rival.
This made headlines after the G-Unit chief said he was “the only person who has been vocal about this for a long time”. He also claimed that he could speak about the allegations, unlike other celebrities, because he did not attend any of the parties.
“I'm not into that weird s***,” 50 Cent explained. “Whatever he's doing, I'm not interested in that type of stuff. I'm just a little more, I guess you could say, basic or normal.”
Alexandria Stapleton, co-creator and director of the documentary, released a joint statement with 50 Cent.
“This is a story with significant human impact. This is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just headlines or clips seen so far,” he said in a statement to Variety. “We stand by our commitment to giving voice to the voiceless and presenting authentic and nuanced perspectives. Although the allegations are disturbing, we urge everyone to remember that Sean Combs' story is not the whole story of hip-hop and its culture. “Our aim is to ensure that individual activities do not overshadow the broader contribution to culture.”
50 Cent and Netflix's documentary comes amid two other projects documenting sex trafficking and racketeering allegations and allegations of violent abuse against Diddy.
On Wednesday evening (September 25), TMZ shared a trailer for their documentary to air on Tubi. The clip features Diddy's attorney, Mark Agnifilo, who announced that his client will represent himself in federal court.
