Alice In Chains’ music has been performing well in the United States once again in 2024. The band has been around for decades, and much of their most popular work is many years old at this point, but there’s still an audience for their tunes. Weeks after debuting one of their most successful projects on the Billboard charts and earning new smashes with older cuts, the group sees one of their most important songs rise once again.
“Man in the Box” lifts slightly on this week’s Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. The single steps up one rung, from No. 19 to No. 18 on the list of the most-streamed hard rock cuts in the U.S.
No. 18 now stands as the loftiest placement yet for the smash. In fact, it’s Alice In Chains’ peak on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart as well.
So far, Alice In Chains has only managed to send one track to the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking. They first reached the tally just last month, when streams of “Man in the Box” grew to a large enough number that the single finally debuted on the list.
Since its arrival in July, “Man in the Box” has spent four stints on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. If the Alice In Chains fan favorite continues to perform as it has for the past several frames, it could reach a new high point again in a few days–or perhaps in the coming weeks.
Alice In Chains released “Man in the Box” in 1991 when the band was still just getting started. The song was featured on their debut full-length Facelift, which had arrived the year prior. The tune helped them reach new audiences, and they quickly became one of the most exciting names in the hard rock genre.
“Man in the Box” has since become a signature hit for Alice In Chains. The smash earned the band their first Grammy nomination in the Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal category. They would go on to be nominated 11 times, and so far, they haven’t won a single prize.
