President Biden’s reelection campaign is gearing up for its third major star-studded fundraiser with an event in Virginia next month that features the Clintons, a source confirmed to The Post.
Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will host the June 18 mega fundraiser, which will feature former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and first lady Jill Biden.
It will take place in McAuliffe’s McLean, Virginia home. McAuliffe served as Virginia governor from 2014 to 2018 but was later beaten by Gov. Glenn Youngkin in the 2021 race.
Axios was the first to report on the fundraiser.
This upcoming fundraiser comes on the heels of the first-of-its-kind “three president” spectacle in New York, which Biden participated in back in March, featuring President Clinton and former President Barack Obama.
That March fundraiser helped rake in about $26 million for Biden’s reelection effort, according to the Biden-Harris campaign.
Biden is planning to attend a second glitzy fundraiser of that kind with Obama in mid-June hosted by actor George Clooney in Los Angeles.
The McLean fundraiser will be the third of its kind.
Biden bested former President Donald Trump for the month of March on the campaign circuit, raising $90 million that month between his campaign and the Democratic National Committee, according to his team. Trump’s team, combined with the Republican National Committee, hauled in $66 million that month.
But Trump, 77, supposedly went on to top Biden with a monster $50.5 million from a Florida fundraiser in April, according to his campaign.
During the month of April, Trump’s team claimed to rake in roughly $76 million, dwarfing the Biden camp’s $51 million, according to figures from both campaigns. That was the first time this year that Trump toppled Biden in terms of fundraising.
Still, Biden’s campaign and the DNC most recently reported $192 million cash on hand, soaring past Trump and the RNC’s $88 million cash on hand.
At the McLean fundraiser, organizers are eyeing a reception followed by a pricier dinner, according to Axios.
By the month’s end, Biden is set to square off with Trump in Atlanta, Georgia on June 27 in a debate hosted by CNN.
Trump has been holed up in the courtroom for his Manhattan hush money trial, which has limited his time on the campaign trail and fundraising circuit.
His Manhattan trial is expended to wind down in the coming days with closing arguments slated to begin this week.
