He deployed a gator “aid.”
No can opener? No problem. A reveler is going viral after using a wild alligator’s jaws to open a beer in what viewers are dubbing “the most Florida thing” ever.
The jaw-dropping clip was first posted to the X account Catch Up Bites but was recently shared by user Wall Street Silver, amassing more than 3.1 million views.
In the jaw-some footage — its exact location and creator are unclear — an unidentified boater uses his hand to lure a small gator to his vessel.
The reptile swims up to the boat with its jaws agape, prompting the daredevil to pierce the can with its teeth as his fellow bros erupt into cheers.
He then hands the brew to a fellow reveler, who shotguns the beer, earning high-fives from his buddies.
X commentators were amazed by the ale-ligator stunt, which many viewers felt epitomized the “Florida Man” — defined online as a person who pulls crazy and outlandish stunts like this one.
“Tell me you’re from Florida without telling me you’re from Florida,” one wrote.
Another proclaimed, “This is the most Florida thing I’ve seen all day.”
“Of all the Florida Man things I have seen, that might be the Florida Manniest,” commented a third.
One wit labeled the “Jackass”-evoking stunt an example of why “women live longer than men.”
While using this enormous reptile as a can opener may seem meme-worthy, Florida state law prohibits people from harassing and/or feeding these scaly predators.
In fact, state wildlife experts warn the public to give gators a wide berth for the benefit of both beast and human.
“The more space you can give an alligator, the better,” the Everglades Holiday Park writes on its site. “You never want to make a gator feel crowded or threatened.”
They added: “They’re faster than they look, and while they try to avoid humans when at all possible, they will defend their young, nests, or mates with ferocity.”
The attraction also warns that even baby gators are not “harmless” as their “reflexes are lightning fast, and they can run up to fifteen miles per hour!”
