Connecticut teacher on leave after threatening Trump supporters on Snapchat


A Connecticut teacher was placed on leave after posting a Snapchat video making violent threats against voters who elected President-elect Donald Trump.

In VideoChapman School special education teacher Anne Dunleavy said that if she “tested her gangster” on Trump supporters she would put them “on a stretcher.”

“(I’m) so serious that no one even talks to me unless you want to swing – if you want to fight, text me, call, whatever, no one will talk to me,” he said in the video. Stay away.”

“If you literally voted for Trump, please delete me, block me, get rid of everything I own — or step in on me so I know what’s going on and I can tell you in my own way. “Can handle it.”

Cheshire Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jeff Solan was informed of the video over the weekend and assured that the teacher in question was sharing his personal thoughts in the form of a private message.

“Cheshire Public Schools is reviewing this situation as a personnel matter, and as such we are following all applicable laws,” he wrote in a message to the school community.

“That being said, it is immediately clear that it would be impossible for our students and staff to conduct business as usual without temporarily removing the teacher from the building, so we have done so pending the outcome of the investigation.”

After the post went viral online, the local police were also informed and are still investigating.

“The Cheshire Police Department is aware of a recent social media post that has gone viral involving an employee of the Town of Cheshire Board of Education,” Cheshire Police wrote in a statement.

“Upon learning of the nature of the post, an investigation was launched. This investigation is still ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

Parents and community members were horrified by the video, but believe placing Dunleavy on leave was the best available option.
