Costco was forced to recall nearly 80,000 pounds of butter because the label failed to mention that the kitchen staple contained milk — and many social media users are rolling their eyes at the diary’s dilemma.
The FDA initially recalled 79,200 pounds of Kirkland Signature butter in October due to an undeclared allergen. The packages of both salted and unsalted Kirkland Signature Sweet Cream Butter list cream as an ingredient, but do not include an allergy warning that that butter “contains milk.”
This bizarre memory has left many internet users scratching their heads. The most common comment: “It’s butter.”
“80,000 pounds of Costco butter was just recalled because the label doesn’t say it contains milk. This is butter. News articles are telling people how they can return the butter, or safely dispose of it. This is butter.” a person fainted,
a social media user said jokingly“Can you please dispose of it safely at my house? “I have a lot of baking to do over the holidays.”
one more couple: “If you want the government to tell you that butter is a dairy product… well, I can’t help you, oh God, I hate this state.”
