Marvel Studios is finally approaching D-Day with the release of Deadpool 3 fast approaching. This movie is speculated to be one of the biggest releases by Marvel to date and could be the answer to everyone saying that Marvel has lost its charm. However, we’ll have to wait and see how this turns out, but for now, let me brief you about all the rumors and leaks going around regarding character cameos in Deadpool 3.
1. Patrick Stewart as Professor X
If we talk about comic book adaptations, Patrick Stewart as Professor X is hands down the best portrayal of a comic book character. Trust me when I say it, I am ready to throw hands if someone tells me otherwise.
Patrick Stewart played this titular character for the X-Men franchise, and the last we saw him was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Recently, there have been a lot of rumors floating around regarding his appearance in Deadpool 3.
On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, when asked about it Patrick said “It has come up, there’s been a process. You know, the last two to three years have been so difficult with the labor problems and the health problems and Covid.” He neither confirmed nor denied his appearance in the movie. So, let us wait and see what happens.
2. Halle Berry as Storm
One of the first X-Men characters to appear in the franchise was Halle Berry as Storm. Even though some X-Men movies featuring her did not do that well, her role as Storm was highly appreciated.
Now, since the announcement of Deadpool 3 and the confirmation of it being connected to the X-Men franchise, there have been rumors of her being present in the movie. However, nothing was confirmed regarding this claim.
Recently, however, Halle posted a picture of herself on Instagram sporting the same white hairstyle she did while playing Storm with the caption — “Patience takes practice”. This once again sparked talks about her Deadpool 3 cameo. However, she has not yet given any official statement regarding this, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
3. James Marsden as Cyclops
The character of Cyclops, played by James Marsden, became an instant fan favorite when he first appeared in X-Men (2000). However, as time passed, his screen time started becoming rather less, with his final appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand.
Recently, rumors surfaced about James Marsden reprising his role as Cyclops in Deadpool 3. This rumor sparked as a set photo of Marsden in a comic-accurate suit surfaced. However, later on, it was claimed to be a fake.
Another factor supporting this claim was Marsden’s interview with Screenrant where he said he is always open to reprising his role as Cyclops. He stated,
“You really do love these characters, the cast, the crew, everybody and the same thing’s happening on this film, which is kind of bringing back memories of that experience. So I would always be open to that, revisiting that world.”
So, if the man himself is ready to step back into the shoes, I see no reason not to let him.
4. Ben Affleck as Daredevil
One of the biggest rumors to surface was Ben Affleck reprising his role as Daredevil for a Deadpool 3 cameo. Yes, you heard it right. Before Charlie Cox became the synonym for Daredevil, back in 2003, Ben Affleck gave us his version of the Man Without Fear. This movie was moderately received and after this, Affleck’s Daredevil made an appearance in Elektra (2005).
Now, the rumor surfaced when Ben was spotted on the sets of Deadpool 3 dressed weirdly similar to his version of Matt Murdock. Another reason fans speculate he is going to appear in Deadpool 3 is the confirmation of Jennifer Garner’s reappearance as Elektra.
I feel this rumor to be a bit far-fetched but because Affleck is no longer associated with the DCEU as Batman, there’s a slight possibility of him appearing in this movie.
5. Ian McKellen as Magneto
With Patrick Steward neither confirming nor denying his appearance in Deadpool 3, he sparked another rumor with his interview with Entertainment Tonight. In his interview, he stated that Ian McKellen loved Patrick’s cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and would love to do one himself someday.
He also added “But we’re not done, Sir Ian and myself. We’re … we got plans.” Now, I know this is not a confirmation, but it sure is something to make you wonder if it will happen or not.
6. Walker Scobell as Kidpool
Those who have seen the Adam Project know that if there is one person who can be considered a successor to Ryan Reynolds, it’s Walker Scobell. His acting, dialogue delivery, and every other screenplay aspect are a little too similar to that of Ryan Reynolds.
When the news of some Deadpool variants appearing in Deadpool 3 surfaced, a tweet was made asking if Walker Scobell would have a Deadpool 3 cameo as Kidpool, and guess who liked that tweet? Ryan Reynolds himself!
However, in a statement given to Comicbook.com regarding this, Walker said “I’m hoping to reunite someday, but I don’t know,” reducing the chances of his appearance.
7. Tyler Mane as Sabretooth
Some time back, certain set photos from Deadpool 3 leaked, suggesting the return of Tyler Mane as Sabretooth. His last appearance was in X-Men (2000) as Sabretooth, and it seems that he is back for a Deadpool 3 cameo.
We do not have any official statement from the actor yet. However, it seems pretty much confirmed by these photos that he is going to be a part of Deadpool 3.
8. Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius
Back in 2022, a rumor came to the surface that Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius would play a big role in Deadpool 3. Sometime later, Wilson was spotted in London where the shooting of Deadpool 3 was underway.
If you look at the photo, Owen Wilson seems to be sporting a sort of similar look he does while playing Mobius for the Loki series. Moreover, it was confirmed a long time back that TVA is going to have a role in Deadpool 3.
Considering Mobius’ experience with someone like Loki, he is the perfect candidate to handle, well, a character as eccentric as Deadpool. However, as of now, Marvel Studios or Owen himself have not said anything officially regarding this rumor.
9. Nicholas Hoult as Beast
One of the characters I am partially sure of appearing in Deadpool 3 is Nicolas Hoult’s Beast. Now you might ask, why do I think so? If you are aware of the post-credits scene of The Marvels, you know that the first X-Men to officially appear in the MCU is no other than Beast himself.
By the end of The Marvels, Monica Rambeau accidentally travels to another universe. Here, she is rescued by the X-Men and is under the care of Beast. As far as my assumption goes, The Marvels acted as a bridge between the two universes setting up the stage for Deadpool 3 to happen by bringing the X-Men into the picture. Now let’s see if this assumption stands true or not.
10. Taylor Swift as Dazzler
One of the biggest rumors for Deadpool 3 is of a cameo or a full-fledged role played by Taylor Swift. Rumors of her joining the Deadpool 3 cast surfaced when she was spotted with Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool 3 Director Shawn Levy at an early October NFL game.
When Ryan Reynolds was asked about this in an interview with Vancouver Sun, he stated, “Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26,” which is when Deadpool 3 is set to release this year. So, you can expect to see Taylor Swift as Dzzler, as per the rumors.
Deadpool 3 will bring Deadpool to the MCU, effectively making him a part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
Venessa played by Morena Baccarin is alive in Deadpool 3. Deadpool went back in time to save her from dying in the post-credit scenes of Deadpool 2.
