As September approaches, the fall season has arrived.
The fall of 2024 is a booming TV season packed with must-see shows.
Big name stars like Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Colin Farrell and Billy Crystal have new projects on the way.
Major TV actors like Joshua Jackson, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are returning to the small screen.
And, they cover a variety of topics, from true crime to supernatural mysteries to medical shows.
Here are some new shows to pay attention to.
“The perfect couple”
This mystery series starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning is based on a best-selling novel by Elin Hilderbrand. The story follows a bride who marries into a wealthy Nantucket family, but things go awry when a dead body shows up on the beach.
Where to watch: On Netflix on September 5.
“Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist”
Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, Terrence Howard, Chloe Bailey and Don Cheadle, this crime drama focuses on a robbery that took place the night Muhammad Ali returned to boxing in 1970. It is inspired by a real armed robbery.
Where to watch: September 5 on Peacock.
“Three Women”
Starring Shailene Woodley and DeWanda Wise, the show is based on Lisa Taddio's 2019 book. The story follows Lena (Betty Gilpin), an unhappily married housewife who has an affair; Sloane (Wise), an entrepreneur in a committed open marriage; Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), a student who accuses her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship, and Gia (Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, who convinces these women to tell their stories.
Where to watch: September 13 on Starz (10 p.m.).
“high potential”
Starring Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), this crime drama follows a single mother who specializes in solving crimes and ends up teaming up with a seasoned detective, Karadek (Daniel Sunjata). Taran Killam (“SNL”) and Judy Reyes (“Scrubs”) also co-star.
Where to watch: Sept. 17 on ABC (10 p.m.).
“Agatha All Along”
This Marvel series starring Kathryn Hahn is the long-awaited spinoff of the 2021 miniseries “WandaVision.” It follows the title character (Hahn) who embarks on a quest to get her powers back. Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone co-star.

“Penguin”
Starring an unrecognizable Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka “The Penguin”), the eight-episode DC series continues the story that began in filmmaker Matt Reeves' 2022 film “The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson in the title role. The series follows Farrell's character from the film as he rises in the criminal underworld.

“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story”
Executive-produced by Ryan Murphy, “Monsters” is the next chapter in the true-crime anthology series that began with “Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story” starring Evan Peters and Niecy Nash, who won Golden Globes for their roles. “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” dramatizes the case of the real-life brothers (played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch) who were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents, Jose (Javier Bardem) and Mary Louise 'Kitty' Menendez (Chloë Sevigny).
Where to watch: On Netflix on September 19.
“Doctor Odyssey”
Starring Joshua Jackson, the show follows a doctor aboard a luxury cruise ship who must deal with high-risk medical emergencies while teaming up with wild staff. Don Johnson also co-stars.
Where to watch: Sept. 26 on ABC (9 p.m.).
“Strangeness”
Directed by Ryan Murphy, the star-studded show will feature Niecy Nash-Bates, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville. Kansas City Chiefs tight end (and Taylor Swift's boyfriend) Travis Kelce will guest star. This is a horror series about a series of heinous crimes that have haunted a small community.
Premiere date: September 25 on FX (10 p.m.) and streaming the next day on Hulu.
“Nobody wants this”
Starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, this romantic-comedy series follows the relationship between a rabbi (Brody) and an agnostic podcast host (Bell).
Where to watch: On Netflix on September 26.
“Disclaimer”
The miniseries, produced by Alfonso Cuarón, stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. Based on a novel by Renée Knight, the story follows a journalist (Blanchett) who discovers she is a character in a novel that uncovers a secret she wanted to hide.

“First”
Starring Billy Crystal, who also executive produces, this psychological thriller follows a child psychiatrist named Eli (Crystal) who has recently lost his wife Lynn (Judith Light), and meets a troubled young boy with whom he has a mysterious connection. Rosie Perez also co-stars.

“Landman”
Created by “Yellowstone” mastermind Taylor Sheridan, “Landman” stars Billy Bob Thornton in the title role and tells the story of “wild billionaires” in the world of oil rigs. Ali Larter (“Heroes”) and Demi Moore co-star, while Jon Hamm and Andy Garcia make guest appearances.
