Do you remember the painful but wonderful moments you had with Flappy Bird? Yes, I do. Flappy Bird, the mobile game that got us all addicted, was shut down by its creator Dong Nguyen just a year after its launch. Although he said that the game is “gone forever”, now it seems that Flappy Bird is coming back better than ever with a new group.
flappy Bird will now officially return for Android, iOS, and other unannounced platforms in 2025. This is being made possible through a group called Flappy Bird Foundation Group Which is a self-proclaimed team of passionate fans.
Foundation acquires sports rights GameTek, LLC who bought the game from Nguyen himself. As it is, the indie developer didn't bother to defend the rights as he abandoned the game altogether.
While not much information has been revealed yet, we do have a nice one-minute trailer that recaps the whole event. Finally, we get a few glimpses of the new Flappy Bird game, along with the features that come with it.
It appears that Flappy Bird will now expand further than ever. This includes new Characters, new game modes, and a cool new pop of color! One particularly interesting feature is that it also has a 'Rivals' mode, which will feature up to 99 other players in a single match.
Flappy Bird release date and platforms
Flappy Bird will officially relaunch Android, iOS and other unannounced platforms Sometimes October 2025Its makers have also promised a browser version that will have similar functionality.
Although the circumstances of passing the rights from one developer to another seem strange, we are still excited to see that Flappy Bird is coming back for all of us. I don’t know about you but my work productivity is going to decrease even more!
