Florida Mom Allegedly stabbed in the neck Murdered by her knife-wielding teenage son over the weekend, she posted a horrifying final message on Instagram the day before her gruesome killing.
Katherine “Kathy” Griffith, 39, was found dead in her Auburndale home by police officers who were called by her son Collin.
Police arrived and found him dead with a stab wound to his neck, and the 17-year-old girl standing in front of the house, covered in blood.
“That old familiar body pain, the same little breaks in your soul. You know when it's time to let go… Sometimes, giving up is the strongest thing,” Katherine Griffith wrote weird caption on Instagram post Image of a remote footbridge leading to a forest, with lyrics from the song “It's Time to Go” by Taylor Swift.

In many of the photographs the two are in the same pose: Kathy in the front, Colin just behind her, narrowing his eyes behind thick black-framed plastic glasses.
“I've learned some of the hardest lessons in my 30th, but I'm vowing that my 39th will be a year of living life to the fullest.” he wrote on September 5the day after his 39th birthday.
Police officials who arrived at the scene on Sunday said Collin showed “no emotion” after allegedly killing his mother.
Neighbors say they saw him drag Kathy inside the home by her hair while she repeatedly pleaded, “Let me go” before her body was recovered.
Collin told police he and his mother struggled for some time, resulting in his mother falling on a knife – severely slitting her throat.
However, he immediately asked for a lawyer when investigators pressed him about inconsistencies in his story with evidence at the scene.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd described the incident as a “brutal murder.”
Collin has a history of abusing his mother, having attacked her on a number of occasions – including “stomping” her – which resulted in the teen being taken into custody due to mental health concerns.
Upon his release after being under state supervision, Collin allegedly threatened to kill either himself or Kathy.
Kathy's death comes nearly a year and a half after Collin was accused of shooting his father, Charles, to death in their home in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, on February 14, 2023.
No one else was home at the time. The teen, who was 15 at the time, told police his father cornered him in the home and that he shot himself once in the chest and once in the head in self-defense.
Judd said Oklahoma authorities found no evidence against Collin's self-defense claim and dropped the murder charge.

Collin is being charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and violating a no-contact order. The PCSO has requested he be tried as an adult.
