According to a Times of India report, the versatile actor has charged approximately Rs 78 crore (plus GST) to essay the role of Venkata Ramana, a gangster who is abandoned by his mother, very early on in his life. As the plot progresses, the film shows how Ramana’s life changes forever when he falls in love with a journalist who is determined to expose the crimes in Guntur City. Guntur Kaaram also features Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and Jagapathi Babu in supporting roles.
During the pre-release event of Guntur Kaaram, filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas praised Mahesh Babu for his hard work. “Mahesh is ready to give 100 percent adventure to the films that Krishna Garu couldn’t venture into. It may appear that 24 long years have passed since his entry into the world of cinema, Mahesh has the same energy that he exhibited in Khaleja. He looks as young and vibrant as he was during his formative years,” Srinivas said.
