Australian influencer Tahlia Skanes, 29, who has more than 800,000 followers online, has caused a stir with her wedding guest dress.
The 29-year-old actress recently shared some of her photos online in which she is seen in a cream gown with large cut-outs and a deep neckline, which she wore at someone else's wedding.
She captioned the photos, “A beautiful day to celebrate love.”
Her fans are praising her look in her comment section.
“Beautiful,” one praised.
Another wrote, “Amazing.”
“Wow,” someone said admiringly.
However, the racy look has sparked debate far and wide, with someone sharing her photos in a Facebook group and asking if anyone else thought the look was a bit “over the top”.
People online were divided over the gown.
Some argued that the non-traditional look is now the norm, and if it looks “hot” and the bride doesn't mind it, then who cares?
But some people believed the dress was too distasteful to wear to someone else's wedding.
“I politely asked him to change his clothes or leave,” one claimed.
Another claimed it broke the first rule of attending a wedding: don't disrespect the bride.
Someone else claimed the dress was “ugly” and looked like she was trying to compete with the bride, and another claimed Skeens must have wanted “attention.”
What people choose to wear to other people's weddings is a very hot topic these days and always sparks heated debate.
Last week, influencer Isabella Mathers caused a stir amongst her followers after dressing up as a bride at her father’s wedding.
The Australian influencer, who has over one million followers, clarified that although the dress looked white, it was baby pink.
It was a non-traditional event, and the bride wore a floral dress, meaning Mathers' dress felt more bridal than bridesmaid-like.
She looked stunning in a satin and lace gown designed by designer Daniel Guizio. She posted several pictures on Instagram to show off her outfit.
She paired the slinky dress with some nude heels, and her partner, Harry Musumeci, joined her in a white linen shirt, cream pants and sneakers. Mathers called him “my forever partner.”
The wedding was a low-key affair, taking place in the backyard, and Mathers documented the day in true impressive style.
Anticipating that she might face criticism, Mathers explained why she decided to wear the designer dress.
“Before anyone says anything about my dress, let me say that this was not a traditional wedding. There was no dress code and my dad's partner wore a floral dress. Half the guests wore white,” she wrote.
