Joe Rogan fired back at “The View” co-host Joy Behar, who called the Spotify podcaster an unreliable source of information who “believes in dragons.”
Rogan faced Behar’s comments during a special podcast episode released on Thanksgiving.
The podcaster, who has an estimated audience of more than 11 million, has been a hot topic of conversation After his support during the recent elections Ultimately the winner – Newly elected President Donald Trump.
Rogan has been Criticism of legacy media outlets Being out of touch with ordinary Americans.
“I had to read about ‘The View’ because I thought it was funny,” Rogan told guests and fellow comedians Mark Normand, Shane Gillis and Ari Shaffir on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“Joy Behar was trying to say I believe in dragons! He said, ‘I checked it, I checked it!’ And then the woman says, ‘Did you double-check it,’ and she says, ‘I checked it, he believes in dragons.’ He hung out with people,” Rogan said, laughing.
Rogan took aim at Behar’s claim that “The View” provided solid information because it was backed by ABC News’ resources.
“This is the most important part. This is right after he said, ‘We’re run by ABC News, you should trust us,’ not Joe Rogan who believes in dragons, so saying we should trust him because they’re run by ABC News. A double check is done and then this is done. The stupidest f–king statement ever made – you didn’t hear what I said, you didn’t hear what the wildlife biologist said,” he said.
Rogan accused Behar of “manic” behavior in light of declining television ratings, which could ultimately cost him his job.
“When you’re worried about losing your job and you’re worried about the takeover of the podcast and who’s the source of the news and ‘We said Donald Trump is Hitler, but half the country disagreed with us and it’s crazy and Joe Rogan. ‘Believes in dragons!’ It’s just crazy,” Rogan said.
The podcaster said he has “no hate for Joy Behar.”
“If I saw him, I would hug him. If I were in his place, I would probably say the same thing about myself,” he said.
Rogan described the controversy as “no big deal…but it’s a stupid thing to say.”
“It undermines your personal credibility if you say we’re great because we’re endorsed by ABC News and then you say Joe Rogan believes in dragons in the next sentence,” he said.
The post seeks comment from Behar.
Rogan was responding to a clip of Behar, who told her “View” co-hosts last Thursday: “We basically went from Walter Cronkite to this guy Joe Rogan who believes in dragons. I Checked it out.”
Behar’s co-host Sara Haines on “The View” asked her: “Did you triple-source it?”
“Yes, I did,” Behar replied. “And he also thinks that animals like dragons, I think, dinosaurs — roamed the Earth when people roamed the earth.”
“So it’s really kind of a lot of bad information that’s going out there. But it’s possible that Donald Trump roamed the Earth when dinosaurs were here,” Behar said.
there were comments Reported by Mediaite.
The segment Behar was referencing was taken from an interview Rogan conducted with wildlife biologist Forrest Galante.
Galante told Rogan about an “outside idea” that dragons may have once existed. He cited the similarity in drawings of dragons from different cultures as evidence.
Rogan did not fully accept the theory of the existence of dragons, although he did argue that depictions of dragons probably resemble large lizards.
Rogan said this week, “My position is that it was probably crocodiles or some big Komodo dragon or some big lizard that killed people and so people fought them with swords and shit and they came back with a story and The artist painted it.”
