A disgruntled customer at a North Carolina Waffle House gave hangry a whole new meaning when he murdered a teenage employee who was eating his food too late.
The Laurinburg Police Department said in a news release that the maniac walked into the Laurinburg Waffle House around 12:42 a.m. Friday and placed his order, then became “agitated and verbally abusive” toward employees before his food was even prepared.
Burley Dawson Locklear, 18, was shot when a customer fired two shots after finishing dinner at the restaurant, police said.
“After the suspect was provided with food, he walked back to the Chevrolet, turned and fired two shots in the direction of the store, wounding Locklear,” police said.
Locklear, a Red Springs resident, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
The gunman, captured on surveillance video, is still at large and has not been identified. Police said he had long hair and facial hair and fled in a dark gray 2014 Chevrolet.
Authorities said she was last seen wearing a dark blue sweater, jeans and white shoes.
“We mourn the tragic death of one of our Waffle House associates who was the victim of a disgraceful act of violence at our Laurinburg, NC restaurant this morning,” Waffle House officials said in a statement. wbtw,
“We are working closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate this case,” the statement added. “We will do everything we can to help authorities find and arrest this killer.”
