Hero MotoCorp has launched a new edition of its popular bike, the Karizma, in India. This special motorcycle, named ‘The Centennial,’ honors the memory of the company’s founder chairman, Dr. Brijmohan Lal Munjal. While based on the Karizma platform, the Centennial boasts numerous cosmetic changes, though it retains the same powertrain as the original.
Introduced to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of Dr. Brijmohan Lal Munjal, The Centennial is a tribute to the legacy of the visionary founder. Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, has designed this bike to cater to motorcycle collectors, making it a unique and highly coveted model.
Distinctive Features and Design
The Centennial features a carbon fiber body, single seat, and several new special components. It is equipped with a fully adjustable suspension and Akrapovic’s carbon fiber exhaust muffler, reflecting its premium craftsmanship and unique design. Each bike is meticulously handcrafted, emphasising its exclusivity and special status.
Limited Availability
Only 100 units of The Centennial will be produced, making it an extremely limited edition. Hero MotoCorp announced that these bikes will be available exclusively by invitation, with deliveries starting in September 2024. To celebrate Dr. Munjal’s 101st birth anniversary, the company will auction these motorcycles to its employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders. Proceeds from the auction will be dedicated to societal welfare initiatives.
Performance and Specifications
Underneath its bespoke exterior, The Centennial houses a 210 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, capable of producing a maximum power of 25.4 PS and a torque of 20.4 Nm. The bike features a 6-speed gearbox, dual-channel ABS, and disc brakes on both wheels, ensuring top-notch performance and safety.
