Nick Cannon is getting candid About their mental health. “The Masked Singer” host After recently revealing that she has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), she admitted she “needs help”.
He spoke openly about his situation during an episode of his “Counsel Culture” podcast earlier this month and discussed his journey while serving food at the Los Angeles Mission’s Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday.
“I still don’t understand it completely, but I’ve always wanted to check it out. I did a lot of tests,” Father of 12,44, told People On the incident. “I have been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a kid I had this dyslexia, but knowing that I’m just a neurodivergent person, I always knew that.
“I feel like there’s a lot of labels out there, but this is like, I can accept it and say, ‘Look, I’m in recovery. I need help. Show me.’ I embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way,” he added. “To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also to be able to heal while self-processes.”
The ‘Drumline’ actor had earlier mentioned that he has taken away all the power from the word ‘narcissism’ to deal with his ‘medically diagnosed’ condition.
“Because I’ve researched it and I understand it,” he said during a podcast with Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, a doctor of psychology. “Call me whatever you want… now if I don’t know what it was, I’m okay with it.”
Canon is the father of 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. With his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, and sons Golden Sagan, 7, and Rise Messiah, 2, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with Brittany Bell.
Additionally, he is father to twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillian Hair, 3, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 2, Abby De La Rosa, son Legendary Love, 2, Bre Tisci and Onyx Ice Cole, 2, Lanisha Cole. ,
In December 2021, his and Alyssa Scott’s son, Zane, died of brain cancer at the age of 5 months. The pair are also parents to 1-year-old daughter Hello Marie.
This holiday, the star told People that she has “a lot of dinners” to attend to celebrate with her kids.
“It’s very complicated. I’m a busy person on Thanksgiving,” he said. “I’ll be full by the end of the day, but everyone specializes in certain things, do you know what I mean? Some “People got good sweet potato pie, some people got amazing fried turkey. So I know every house has to have things that I really like.”
December will also keep him busy. He plans to visit the East Coast, Aspen and Big Bear in California because “all the kids want to go to the snow.”
