Straphangers aboard the 2 train last week were given a motivational speech over the intercom by the conductor.
The encouraging voice said, “You have what it takes to get to the next level, you just have to be persistent.”
“You are not a drop in the entire ocean, you are the entire ocean within a drop. Uniquely created, just you. love yourself. Don’t give up, do your work.”
The sweet moment was captured on video by 24-year-old Vanessa Nguyen as she drove home from Harlem to Bushwick.
“It was really lovely, it was everyone smiling and talking to each other and saying, ‘That’s great to hear,'” Nguyen recalled.
Even the conductor’s appeal to passengers not to keep doors open was good, he said.
“I love capturing these little moments,” he said. “When you keep your head down, you won’t pay attention to everything going on around you, especially in a city that’s moving as fast as New York.”
The content creator, who moved to the Big Apple from Boston in September, shared inspirational pep talks on TikTok – and I was blown away by the almost 60,000 views it got.

Many people commented that they recognized the sound of the 6 train.
“Imagine how many people that inspires in a city like NYC?” One woman commented.
“This guy is literally the light at the end of the tunnel,” said another.
“I love New York,” several other social media users said.
The MTA did not immediately respond to inquiries about the conductor.
