Casting has been ramping up recently, as production on the show continues in South Africa and is expected to run until January 2025. Netflix still has several more cast members to announce, and we suspect they'll be unveiled in due time, but Netflix has reportedly found its Mr. 11, Chopper (heavy points), and Luffy's biggest fanboy Bartolomeo.
Following Oda-sensei's official teaser in August, we saw three days of cast announcements for the second season.
However, the announcements below do not come from Netflix but from research done by X Account One Piece Netflix Fans. Before Netflix revealed that Charithra Chandran has been cast for Miss Wednesday, they sparked speculation behind her casting.
Gavin Gomes will play Tony Chopper (Heavy Point)
It is unclear if Gavin Gomes will be voicing Heavy Point Chopper or just a body double. The actor and stunt double have worked in several films Warrior, Black Sails, Plan BAnd Cars that made the worldHe also worked as a stunt performer in the film Deep Blue Sea 3.
Nahum Hughes will play Bartolomeo
Nahum Hughes has played some minor roles in movies and television shows such as black Beauty, Number of killers, Darby Harper wants to tell youAnd Project Dina,
One Piece fans will probably know that Bartolomeo isn't officially introduced to the story until the Dressrosa arc, which takes place hundreds of chapters after the events of Logotown. However, as part of Bartolomeo's backstory, he witnesses the “miracle” that saves Luffy's life in Logotown, which inspires him to become a pirate. This is a fun and welcome change to the story, similar to how Garp was revealed to be Luffy's grandfather hundreds of chapters before he was shown in the manga.
Alan Foulis will play Mr. 11
Alan Foulis played Owen in the martial arts drama Warrior. He also played Captain 2 in two episodes of the AppleTV series Invasion and the docudrama The Great War.
Introduced during the Little Garden arc, Mr. 11 was captured by Captain Smoker and Tashigi on Renaissance Island. In the anime and manga, we never saw how Mr. 11 was captured. We expect to see this fight in the second season, allowing us to see Tashigi and Smoker in action, just like, in the first season, we saw the fight between Zoro and Mr. 7 on screen for the first time.
