Popular British comedian Duncan Norwell has died at the age of 66 after battling sepsis and a chest infection.
Norvell, who rose to fame in the 1980s and was known for his catchphrase “Chase me”, died Thursday morning, his partner Linda Trevelyan said. Sun.

“He is at peace and made millions of people laugh during his lifetime,” he said.
“I’ve never heard anyone say a bad thing about him.”
Trevelyan said that Norvell was not in pain at the time of his death.
The couple met soon after Norvell suffered a stroke that left half his body paralyzed in 2012.
Although they never married, Trevelyan said that they “were together like husband and wife”.
“I fell in love with that man, the stroke didn’t matter,” she said.
“I helped him, but he could do a lot more for himself… I never want anyone to suffer.
“I still want to hold her, and love her a little more.
“It wasn’t much. I knew it was coming but you’re never ready.
At the time of his death, Norvell was surrounded by family.
Trevelyan was with his two children – Jack, 15, and Yasmin, 35.
Their eldest child, Sophie, 44, was unable to return from Spain in time to be with them.
Norvell became famous in the 1980s by starring in ITV’s Saturday Royal and appearing in the pilot for Blind Date, titled It’s a Hoot.
In 1991, he was a guest on the comedy panel game show Through the Keyhole.
In 2008, Norvell delighted fans when he toured with the Ricky Tomlinson Laughter Show.
His career was disrupted by the 2012 setback, which caused him to cancel plans to perform with comedy duo Cannon and Ball.
Three years later, Norvell returned to the stage at the Embassy Theater in Skegness, raising funds for the Stroke Association.
His ex-wife also confirmed the news with a Facebook post: “It is with great sadness that Duncan’s children and I announce that at 8.15am today, Duncan Norvell passed away.
“Duncan passed away peacefully with me and daughter Yasmin at his side. May your soul rest in peace, our comedy legend was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Following the news of his death, friends and colleagues have paid tribute.
Fellow comedian Tommy Cannon paid tribute on social media.
“Very sad to hear today of the passing of one of my colleagues, Duncan Norvell, I have fond memories of working with him over the summer and recently taking a cruise with him,” Cannon wrote.
“My thoughts are with his entire family at this time. You will be missed my friend, rest assured.”
Musician Rick Gaynor also expressed his grief on Facebook.
“Comedy superstar legend is the best way to describe him. “He was the first and only person I asked for an autograph,” Gaynor wrote.
“He was absolutely hilarious with his impressions, singing, stand-up comedy and, of course, his famous catchphrase ‘Chase me’, which made him a household name in the 80s and 90s.
“We will miss that cheeky smile and wicked humor.
He added, “We will never forget the legend that Duncan Norvell is.”
