Queen’s Brian May performs despite low energy after stroke, didn’t touch guitar for 2 months



Queen Guitarist Brian May is back on stage suffer a blow at the end of August.

Echoing the sweet comments, one person shared, “They were lucky you were there! Glad to hear you had a great time.”

On September 4, May revealed that he had suffered a stroke a week earlier, which left him temporarily unable to use his left arm.

The rocker shared the news via social media, saying that it was doubtful he would be able to play guitar again after his “little health hiccups”.

“I’m here to bring you some good news – the good news is that after the events of the last few days I can play guitar,” May began his video. “I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health issue I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke. It was a little scary, I must say.”

He said he “suddenly” lost control of his arm during the health crisis.

Praising the doctors’ “brilliant care”, May added, “I didn’t want to say anything at the time because I didn’t want anything around, you know. I really didn’t want sympathy.”

“Please don’t do that because it will clutter my inbox and I hate that,” the British artist quipped. “The good news is that I am fine. Just doing what I’m told, which is basically nothing. I’m grounded.”

Despite the incident, May appeared to be in good spirits in the clip, explaining to followers that she is not allowed to drive or get on a plane because it risks increasing her heart rate.

“Planes are not allowed to fly overhead, which would stress me out,” May said. “But I’m good.”

The “Don’t Stop Me Now” artist is no stranger to health concerns. In 2020, he suffered a heart attack “very close to death”.

Doctors discovered that three of May’s arteries were blocked and she was fitted with three stents, which help keep the arteries open.

May has not performed on the road since February, when she and Queen did a five-day tour across Japan.

The band finished their performances on 14 February.
