With the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya set for its grand inauguration on January 22nd, multiple state governments and central agencies have announced closures to enable staff participation in the momentous event.
Banks, schools, government offices and even liquor shops will remain shut in different parts of India as the country commemorates the mega ceremony in unison.

Banks, Insurance Companies to Observe Half-Day Shutdown
All banks and insurance companies across India will be closed post afternoon on January 22 for the Ram Mandir consecration rituals.
Central Government Offices to Close Early
All central government offices including hospitals AIIMS, Safdarjung and RML will observe half-day off till 2:30 PM. Critical and emergency services will continue functioning.
Multiple States Declare Public Holiday
Over 10 states have declared full holiday for state government offices on Jan 22 including Delhi, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and more. Few other states have half-day closing.
Schools, Colleges Closed in Various States
Educational institutions will be fully shut in around 7 states on Jan 22, including UP, MP, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra among others. Half-day off given in few states like Haryana.
Liquor Sale Banned for Day in Some Areas
Selling of liquor will be barred across entire states of UP, MP and Haryana on the occasion. Dry day norms will be applicable.
Goa Casinos to Remain Closed 8 Hours
All casinos based in Goa will suspend operations for 8 hours from 8 AM onwards on January 22 for Ram Mandir ceremony.
The mass statewide closures and offs are intended to allow staff and citizens to participate in or commemorate the mega Ram Mandir inauguration event on January 22.
Many states also aim for public safety by restricting liquor sale. In Ayodhya itself, grande preparations are underway as devotees and VIPs throng the holy city.
