After its completion, the distance between two big cities will be reduced by 150 kilometers. This extension is a 713 km project, connecting major cities of other states. This extension will pass through Ichhapur, Muktainagar, Jalgaon and Akola. It will be directly connected to Hyderabad via Burhanpur, Jalgaon and Nanded. It has been said in the report that Indore-Hyderabad Expressway is being constructed at a cost of Rs 15 thousand crore.
Government approves upgrading of Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway to 6 lanes, GMR Infra moves out early
On the other hand, the Central Government has approved upgrading the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. For this, an agreement has been signed between the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the current road maintenance contractor, GMR. Infra, for an early exit from the project, which is about a year before the contract is due to end.
New tenders will be issued soon for the six-lane expansion work. Meanwhile, GMR Infra will be compensated for its early exit from the project.
