The second round of the PGA Championship has been delayed after a man was reportedly killed by a shuttle bus outside the historic Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
The man was crossing Shelbyville Road outside the historic golf course at around 5 a.m. when he was struck by the bus, police told WLKY.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
PGA Championship announced on X that an update regarding a start time is scheduled for 7 a.m.
The crash is not believed to be connected to an incident involving world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, who was detained by police and spotted in handcuffs outside the golf course.
Scottie Scheffler was allegedly “detained by police in handcuffs after a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to his attempt to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club,” according to ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington.
Scheffler is currently ranked No. 1 world for golf and is tied for 12th place in the major tournament.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
