United Airlines has partnered with New York City’s Magnolia Bakery to bring the “world famous” banana pudding to the sky.
According to a United press release, Magnolia’s “Banana Pudding Wafer Cookie Bites” are now available on select United First flights traveling more than 901 miles.
Bobby Lloyd, CEO of Magnolia Bakery, said, “As an avid traveler and baker, I know what an important role food can play in your travels, which is why I create this new, innovative solution for thousands of adventurers each year. “Very excited to bring the product out.” And chief baking officer said in the release.
The dessert will be served frozen-until-thawed in 3-ounce cups, made from real bananas.
“The only thing more prestigious than Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding Enjoying that pudding at 30,000 feet in a United first – we know our customers will love it,” said Aaron McMillan, United’s managing director of hospitality programs, according to the release.
“We are changing the way passengers eat and drink onboard, offering greater variety and more upscale options with partners like Magnolia,” McMillan said.
The collaboration comes as Magnolia Bakery expands its “New York Treat to Anywhere Eat” campaign.
In August, the bakery opened a location inside LaGuardia Airport, located in Terminal C.
United isn’t the only airline bringing food favorites to the skies.
Delta Airlines recently collaborated with Shake Shack Serving burgers to first class passengers.
Shake Shack meals are only available to first class passengers flying from Boston. Fox News Digital reported that the offering would eventually expand to other cities.
