Raise your glasses high for the end of an era.
Bravo announced Tuesday that “Vanderpump Rules” is returning for season 12 — but with an all-new cast.
Will feature in the new show Lisa Vanderpump and “a new group of united sur-verses who are as intricately intertwined with each other as their iconic predecessors.”
Production on season 12 will begin next year, but a premiere date and cast have not yet been announced.
“How thrilling it is to recreate and build on the legacy of this series,” executive producer Alex Baskin said in a statement. “With a deep appreciation for the original group and their iconic performances, we can’t wait for audiences to see a dynamic new group of colleagues and friends make their way in life together.”
Lala Kent reacted to the news in an emotional post on social media.
“Where to start,” Kent, 34, wrote Instagram On Tuesday. “I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who moved to L.A. I used to introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend called me Lala, my nickname quickly stuck.”
Reflecting on joining the show for Season 4 in 2015, Kent said, “Sur was a place that became home.”
“I found myself there not only drinking vodka sodas, but also behind a hostess stand… It is still to this day the most intimidating thing I have ever done. After a short time, an opportunity came my way to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret that I don’t like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years.”
The reality star further added, “This show changed my whole life. I am incredibly grateful for every moment. I’m incredibly grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, for the entire cast, and most importantly for all of you. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off.
Vanderpump, 64, confirmed the news in her statement.
“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary period filled with laughter, tears and everything in between,” the restaurant owner said Tuesday. “I can’t thank those people enough who have shared their lives. How much I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Best wishes to the next generation of ‘Vanderpump Rules’.”
The news comes a day after Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz announced their second restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s closing its doors Two years later, at the end of December.
“Vanderpump Rules” first debuted in 2013, starting as a spinoff of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
The show originally followed Vanderpump and the then-current staff of her restaurant SUR, including Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Stassi Schroeder, as they navigated professional and personal drama.
