7 lessons you can learn from Virat Kohli on how to be a good partner

Virat Kohli has made a name as one of the best cricketers of his time, a fitness enthusiast and the perfect example of a green flag in a partner. The athlete is married to actress Anushka Sharma, and together, they exude couple goals. The couple’s chemistry definitely shows through the multiple ads they do together or their on-the-field gestures that make their fans go ‘awwwww’.’ While you can train to workout like King Kohli, you can also pick up a few relationship lessons on how to be an encouraging partner and build a wholesome relationship.

Here are 7 lessons you can learn from Virat Kohli on how to be a good partner

1. Showing commitment

Kohli’s dedication to his craft mirrors the commitment required in a relationship. The ace cricketer tied the knot with Anushka Sharma in 2017 and the duo has been “couple goals” for many. Being reliable and dedicated to your partner strengthens a relationship. In an older interview, Kohli mentioned that the foundation of their relationship was so strong that they didn’t feel the need for a proposal, that it was always a given fact that was mutual between the two. “We knew we were going to marry each other, there was no doubt about it ever. So once we knew that everything was going smoothly, we were super excited to start our life together. And organically things went on,” he said.

2. Prioritising your partner

We’ve seen many instances of Kohli taking time out to prioritise his partner’s well-being, whether it’s gesturing to her from the field if she’s had food, during an IPL match in 2020, or most recently, video calling her post his win with Royal Challengers Bengaluru versus Punjab Kings. In both instances, fans found the couple to be wholesome. Despite his commitments and dedication to his work, Kohli manages to find a balance between his professional and personal life, without sidelining his partner on his way to glory.

3. Remembering key moments

While the duo got married in December 2017, the couple had been dating for a few years before that. Kohli and Sharma met each other for a shampoo commercial in 2013 and instantly, the duo hit it off like a house on fire. In an interview when Anushka was asked what made her realise that Virat would make for a good husband, her response was: “his good memory. When we were dating each other, it was one of the things I was very impressed with…yaar, yeh toh life partner hi acha hai (he is going to be a good life partner) because his memory was so good,” she shared.

Forgetting anniversaries, birthdays or some special moments shows a lack of care. Remembering and celebrating consequential memories together can nourish your relationship and add value to it. Not every memory requires grand gestures, but just acknowledging it shows why this relationship is worth an emotional investment.

4. Don’t shy away from PDA
