Olivia Rodrigo is used to appearing at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. She’s landed atop a number of rankings in the past, including those that focus on both songs and albums. The singer-songwriter is not, however, as accustomed to appearing in both first and last place on the same list–at the same time.
On this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, Rodrigo manages that specific showing. What’s even stranger about her current performance on Billboard’s list of the bestselling vinyl titles in the country is that both of her projects that help her achieve this rare showing return to the tally simultaneously.
Rodrigo is in charge of the Vinyl Albums tally once again this frame. Her sophomore set Guts returns to No. 1 on the ranking. The set has now spent five frames on top of the vinyl-only roster, and it’s her longest-running leader.
At the same time, Rodrigo’s debut full-length Sour also mounts a comeback. That title appears at No. 25 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The ranking only features 25 spaces, so this time around, the release that made her a superstar settles into last place.
Between the two, Sour is the longer-charting, and by a significant margin. While Guts has now spent 39 weeks somewhere on the Vinyl Albums chart, its predecessor has more than doubled that total. In two frames, Sour will hit 100 weeks on the vinyl list.
Both Sour and Guts benefit from being made available on vinyl once again. The two titles are for sale on Rodrigo’s website, though some versions are already sold out, as fans are clearly ver interested in owning both on wax.
Rodrigo has sent both of her full-lengths to the top of the Vinyl Albums chart. She’s also managed to push one other collection to the list, though it was only for a short time, as it was a special offering. Her Guts: The Secret Tracks EP peaked at No. 14 for one frame in late 2023.
