Now, four years later, he opened up about that tough time in a podcast interview.
“I haven't talked about what it was exactly because it feels like a private thing that I don't need to say,” Woodley said. That MD Podcast,
“It got to the point where I was losing my hearing.
“I couldn't walk for more than five minutes at a time, so I had to lie down and sleep for hours. Anything I ate would upset my stomach.”
The actress revealed that it was a “long journey” filled with a “mix of problems and diagnoses.”
She said that “feeling so physically uncomfortable led to a lot of other problems”. She said the experience exacerbated her mental health struggles, identity confusion, food phobia and physical deformity.
“It was a journey that eventually resolved itself physically.”
The actress was just 21 when she starred in the Divergent series alongside Theo James.
Now in her 30s, Woodley said she is “very healthy.”
“I am very happy to say that.”
