Mayor Eric Adams welcomed Donald Trump’s incoming “Border Czar” to Gracie Mansion on Thursday for a highly anticipated one-on-one meeting on the president-elect’s migrant deportation plans.
Soon-to-be czar Tom Homan walked into the mayor’s mansion ahead of the planned 1 p.m. meeting, where Adams is expected to discuss how his administration will work with the Trump White House to expel migrant criminals from New York City. How can it work?

“Cancel me, because I’m going to protect the people of this city,” he declared defiantly.
Sources told The Post that Adams is eyeing an executive order that could end the city’s sanctuary city status.
Homan vowed not to let the cities’ sanctuary status stand in the way of Trump’s promised mass deportations — a promise coupled with the threat of withholding federal funding if they did not cooperate.

Adams has said he would oppose the deportation of hard-working undocumented New Yorkers, but indicated his goodwill does not extend to alleged criminals.
Hizzoner’s growing warmth toward Trump’s policies prompted City Comptroller Brad Lander, a potential mayoral contender, to attack Adams.
“Eric Adams is so focused on aligning with Trump that he is willing to deny people due process and put families’ safety at risk,” Lander said in a statement. “Embracing Trump’s xenophobic policies with open arms is a betrayal of all who call New York City home.”
