A New Jersey woman is accused of brutally beating her mother to death inside their own home on Monday, police said.
Burlington County prosecutors claim police in Willingboro Township found Kim Beacham-Hanson, 57, dead from multiple blunt injuries allegedly inflicted by her daughter, 32-year-old Breanna Beacham.
“Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood concluded that her death was a homicide caused by multiple blunt injuries,” the county prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
Police arrested Beecham at his mother’s home, where she was living temporarily.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the alleged matricide.
In addition to first-degree murder, Beacham was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, although police have not specified what that weapon is.
The case will now be prepared to be presented to a grand jury for possible indictment.
