In January 2023, Fighter director Siddharth Anand raised the bar for Bollywood with Pathaan, which not only signalled Shah Rukh Khan’s epic comeback to the silver screen but was also deemed the year’s second-highest-grossing Indian film. Exactly a year later, he’s looking to replicate Pathaan’s commercial success with his latest directorial Fighter — an aerial action movie starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
Without giving too much away, Fighter centres around an elite Indian Air Force (IAF) unit, Air Dragons, which is led by Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Roshan), Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Padukone) and Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Kapoor) and dedicate their lives to fighting for the nation, while navigating through a series of personal battles.
From the trailer alone, it’s evident that the movie will feature some top-notch, physics-defying action sequences, with a particular focus on aerial combat.
