It took a long time for Angelina Jolie to regain her voice.
The 49-year-old Oscar winner explained, The Hollywood Reporter She revealed that before her new movie “Maria” she did not sing for some time because an ex-boyfriend criticized her voice.
“It was a different experience for me, because I don't sing,” Jolie said in the interview published Friday. “There was someone in my life who was not kind to my singing. I was in a relationship. And so I assumed I couldn't really sing.”
“I went to theater school, so it was weird that that affected me as well,” she added. “I just adapted myself to this person's opinion. So I had to go through a lot of things to start singing.”
Jolie's ex-husbands include her ex-husbands Jonny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton, and Brad Pitt.
He Miller, 51, was married. From 1996 to 1999.
His Married to Thornton, 69, It ran from 2000 to 2003.
Last but not least, Jolie and Pitt's romance began in 2005 when they fell in love with each other on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” They married in 2014 but split two years later after an alleged violent argument on a plane.

The “Eternals” actress has accused Pitt of being abusive towards her and their children, which he has denied.
Pitt appears to be estranged from his six children. Some of the Jolie-Pitt children have even dropped their father's last name.

She burst into tears when the film received an 8-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival on August 29.
In her interview with THR, Jolie said she learned a lot about her voice during seven months of learning opera singing.
“I thought I had a low voice my whole life. I was explaining (to the singing coach) that I had a deeper voice, and she said, 'No, you're actually a soprano,'” she said.
“And maybe something happened. When you go through different things in your life your voice changes. So it was a shock. It was very weird,” Jolie said.
She also revealed that when she was filming for “Maria,” her sons Maddox and Pax were also on the set with her.
“I've never had a set where my family wasn't allowed to be there because I was concentrating – I'm not that kind of person,” she said. “You could climb on me or come and visit me. It really meant a lot that my sons were with me on 'Maria'. When I was having a really heavy time, they would come and hug me or give me a cup of tea.”
“That was probably the most profound thing that — usually when I express this much pain, it's not in front of my kids,” Jolie continued. “You really try to hide from your kids how much pain and sadness you carry. And so when you're expressing it on this level and they're with you, I think it was the first time they've ever heard me cry like that. It's usually in the shower.”
