A former Border Patrol officer responsible for securing nearly 1,000 miles of the US border has accused The Biden-Harris Administration Is Deliberately Hiding the ongoing migrant crisis,
Former San Diego Sector Chief Agent Aaron Heitke told members of the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday that the White House repeatedly attempted to “calm down the border-wide crisis” by concealing information from the press and covering up information about dangerous migrants crossing the border with ties to terrorists.
“I had to release hundreds of illegal aliens every day into communities that could not support them,” Heitke, who retires in the summer of 2023 and voluntarily appeared before the panel, testified.
“To calm the problem, two flights a week were provided from San Diego to Texas,” he said. “These flights brought to Texas only those aliens who had been released in San Diego.”
“Each flight cost about $150,000. This was the administration's way of calming down a border-wide crisis,” Heitke stressed.
Elsewhere in his testimony, Heitke said administration officials had asked him to move more than 2,000 migrants caught between two U.S.-Mexico border fences spanning Southern California “out of the sight of the media.”
The chief agent was also barred from discussing an alarming increase in border crossings by so-called “aliens of special interest,” or SIA, who were suspected of posing a national security concern based on their country of origin or ties to terrorist groups.
Heitke said that before Biden and Harris took office, the San Diego sector “averaged 10 to 15 SIA arrests per year,” but that increased to “over 100 SIAs in 2022, far more in 2023, and even more than the SIAs recorded this year.”
“These are just the people we've caught,” he said, adding that more than 1.7 million known “fugitives” whose terrorist ties or risks are unknown have also entered the US without being caught.
“At that time I was told I could not mention any increase in the number of SIAs or any arrests,” he said. “The administration was trying to convince the public there was no threat at the border.”
The testimony came a day after The Post revealed that another former Border Enforcement official claimed during a written interview with the committee that Biden, Harris and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “Intentionally” opened the US border.
“I maintain strongly that Secretary Mayorkas and his subordinate political appointees are deliberately conspiring and attempting to undermine the security of the American people and the very purpose and intent of U.S. law as enacted by Congress,” former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott said in a January interview.
Scott said the administration is effectively telling their border agents, “don't do your job,” which is in stark contrast to the policies of both former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama.
