The story of Arcane has come to an end with Season 2, but it will continue to be the talk of the town for many days to come. It was an incredible experience that we can’t get out of our minds. However, with the conclusion of the show comes a question – Were the events of the Arcane TV show canon from League of Legends? Well, if you are asking yourself the same question, here is the answer.
Arcane is actually canon to League of Legends lore
Initially, the producers of the animated TV series were reluctant to confirm it, but later, Riot Games announced Everything that happens in Arcane is canon to League of Legends loreIn a Twitter post in 2023, Riot officially announced that Archon is officially canon to the League of Legends universe. A Riot official also confirmed this in response to the Reddit post.
Previously, the creators had said that the show follows its own continuity, but for some reason they decided to go in a different direction.
This means that the characters we see in League of Legends (and other games based on the world of Runeterra) are the same characters we see in Arcane. This is the same Jinx, Vi, Kaitlyn and warwickFor those unaware, League of Legends is a PvP experience where two teams of five fight each other as champions, and the fights have no narrative elements.
There is League of Legends lore that you can read online, and of course, it’s also official. But, Arcane dives deeper and focuses on a smaller group of characters. Rather than telling the story of all of Runeterra, it highlights just two regions, Pilttower and Zaun.

Arcane Being Canon brings interesting opportunities for the next LoL show
Creating Arcane Canon in League of Legends is an exciting and smart move. runeterra is a huge universe It includes many citiesOf course, the events that took place in Pilttower and Zaun were important, but in the stories of League of Legends, every city in Runeterra has its own version of heroes and villains.
Since Riot made Arcane canon into LoL, we may see another city next from Runeterra – it could be one of Noxus (where black rose order ), Demacia, Targon, Ionia, Ixtal, or Bandel City.
While it’s likely that Riot Games will now move towards Noxus and the threat of the Black Rose in a spin-off LoL series, it’s also true that the world of Runeterra has a lot to offer. Bigger danger than Black RoseTo be fair, fans would love to see a story about Lux making a TV comeback, but it’s hard to tell which character Riot will target next.

In fact, speculation exists as to which character will be the next focus since Archon is canon to League of Legends. Now, League of Legends fans can connect the dots better after watching Arcane. For example, after watching Arcane, it makes sense why Kat and V were always shown together in League of Legends music videos.
That way, each Easter egg in Arcane could lead to bigger things, and we can’t wait for it. If all goes well, and Riot gives us multiple canon shows based around LoL, we could see characters from different shows coming together to fight a bigger threat.
