Astrologer shares 7 ways to make the most of autumn’s energy

In the Northern Hemisphere, the leaves leave their suicide notes of color, the air grows cold, bones creak, the birds fly away, the days grow hazy, and promotional materials turn eager toward the pumpkin-spiced and the cider-logged.

My children, it is the season of autumn and the hungry heart of Libra is upon us, a time when we are all called to examine our roles as partners, collaborators, performers, holders of the past and conquerors of the future.

Astrologer Irina Wood, Founder Gemini near meThe Self-Love and Relationship Intelligence app, explains that now is the time for reflection and preparation.

Astrologer Irina Wood shares her seven tips for making the most of autumn's energy.

“Autumn marks the transition from the active energy of summer to the restful energy of winter. For me, fall symbolizes transformation — a bridge to reflect on past accomplishments and set new goals. As the year comes to an end, embrace the changes this season brings — it's the best way to recharge, refocus and prepare yourself for a peaceful, balanced winter,” Wood told The Post.

How can we reap the fruits of this change and assemble ourselves into a pile we can feel proud of? See below for Wood's tips for harnessing autumn's energy for maximum benefit.

1. Record your wins and embrace your losses

The autumn equinox and the arrival of Libra season encourages us to reflect on all the work we've completed or abandoned since the spring equinox in March.

“I recommend writing down all of your accomplishments,” says Wood. “Celebrate your progress, whether good or bad, because it makes you stronger.”

Whether you've sailed or failed since the spring equinox, it's important to mark the passage of time and painful period of character growth by writing it down on paper. This audit allows you to see how far you've come so you can feel confident moving forward with the rest of your tasks.

2. find balance

Libra's symbol is the scales, and while it's a sign of partnership, it also inspires us to figure out how to bring our bodies into balance so we can be present and give our all in each relationship.

“Autumn requires a balance between work, rest, social time, and personal time. Whether spending time with loved ones or time alone, focus on activities that bring you peace and keep you energized as the days get shorter.”

3. Don't clutter your life

Just as trees shed their dead limbs to prepare themselves for the arrival of new and good things, we too must let go of old and burdensome things.

“Autumn is a time to physically and emotionally let go of things that are no longer needed. Clean your house, clear your mind and leave your bad habits behind. It's the perfect opportunity to make room for new opportunities to enter your life,” Wood told the Post.

4. Enjoy the sunshine

The light of the ever-loving sun is a vital source of energy for both body and mind. As fall approaches, in the immortal words of Janis Joplin, “Get it while you can,”..because you'll need it.

the sun is donor of vitamin DWhich plays an important role in the immune system and may reduce the risk of autoimmune diseases such as diabetes, asthma and rheumatoid arthritis.

“Autumn gives you those last few days of sunshine that can lift your mood and refresh you,” says Wood. “So get outside and improve your mood before the winter weather begins.”

5. Create your own space in nature

A walk in the woods or in an urban park is the cheapest and quickest way to refresh both the mind and the body. encierro – stock.adobe.com

As Wood says and science proves, spending time in nature is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to improve your body and your emotions.

“Whether it's a peaceful walk in the park or meditating outside, reconnecting with nature helps you find balance and stay calm as autumn progresses. Spending time outside not only improves your mental well-being, it also strengthens your immune system,” Wood told the Post.

Candy Wiens, a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania who specializes in the study of stress, resilience and burnout, echoes this advice. he told The Post in March Spending time in nature releases hormones called dopamine and endorphins, which is scientifically proven. What's even better is that the benefits start pouring in as little as ten minutes under the open sky.

6. Be aware of major astrological changes

We are in the middle An eclipse corridor that could bring significant energy changes. “The lunar eclipse on September 17 influenced your unconscious mind, while the solar eclipse next week focuses on partnerships. Be mindful of your decisions during this period, as they can have long-term implications.”

7. Prioritize self-love

While the cold weather keeps us indoors, Wood says we should self-examine by stepping away from people-pleasing and show-offs in relationships, “Stop living under the influence of others and focus on your true nature. Take time to get to know yourself better – it's the foundation for building healthy relationships and attracting the right kind of connections.”
