Former Star newsreader Clive Robertson has died.
Robertson transformed news presentation in the mid-1980s, making jokes off script and becoming a ratings sensation for Seven.
He was married to Penny Cook of A Country Practice, another seven star at the time

Robertston led the 7NEWS programs 11AM and Newsworld, and was also a highly rated radio star.
Friends confirm to 7NEWS that Robertson died of cancer at the age of 78
Robertson began his broadcasting career with the ABC in 1972, before moving to Seven in the 1980s.
He was known for his sarcastic humor and handling of talkback radio callers.
