Animatronic puffer coats in the windows of trendy women’s clothing store Aritzia in Manhattan seem to be doing Viral “Trump Dance” – Possibly unaware of the “woke” series Higher officials.
The dazzling display of automated advertising – seemingly akin to the president-elect’s wildly popular moves on the election campaign trail – received positive reviews Sunday from passersby.
“It’s going to attract attention,” said a tourist named Chris, who was outside the brand’s Fifth Avenue shop with his family from West Palm Beach, Florida.
Chris’s wife, Kam, added, “And if it’s (the Trump dance), it’s OK.
“You can love it or hate it,” she said.
Another spectator said, “There is a new president there, so (the demonstration) is not bad for us.
“Maybe it is for some people.”
It’s unlikely the Vancouver, Canada-based brand — which donated $100,000 to Black Lives Matter and the NAACP in 2020 — is aware that the display is reminiscent of Trump.
A source with knowledge of the company’s displays told The Post that the series considers the animatronic gestures to be “definitely just normal dance moves” that are “not intended to mimic anything or anyone.”
But among the dozens of passersby who stopped to take photos with the display near the Fifth Avenue store, some weren’t convinced.
When a Post reporter pointed out the similarities between the Trump dance and the statues, Los Angeles tourist Ray said, “I definitely see that.”
“That’s the way he dances,” Caroline, a Baltimore, MD, resident, said before demonstrating the president-elect’s iconic side-to-side movements.
“It looks like that. But I think a lot of people dance like that,” he said. “Trump is the only one who’s on camera all the time.”
A store employee told The Post that the larger-than-life mannequins were installed at Aritzia’s newest New York locations: on November 26 in SoHo and on December 16 on Fifth Avenue, down from Trump Tower.
Animatronics performing similar moves at Aritzia stores in the brand’s Toronto store have also been reported on X.
Aritzia will have less time to dance when Trump returns to the White House next month, According to fashion blogger Antonio Padilla,
He revealed in a now-viral TikTok video earlier this month that prices on popular clothing brands could rise under Trump.
The president-elect has said he will impose a 25% tariff on all imports from Mexico and Canada as one of his first executive actions. According to the Associated Press,
“Many of these costs will likely be passed on to the American consumer,” Padilla said.
“For example, brands like Canada-based Aritzia and Lululemon will see a 25% increase on their items after the new tariffs are implemented.”
