During the event, the Duke of Sussex presented an award to local pilot Lorraine Courtney and joked that they both felt more comfortable flying a helicopter than speaking on stage.
“As you may have already heard, despite 22 years of military service and over 10,000 hours of combat duty, he rarely sees his family because he's always flying helicopters,” Prince Harry said of Courtney.
The concert celebrated the bravery of Santa Barbara's first responders and featured performances from a variety of stars, including Rob Lowe, Jeff Bridges, Pink and 1980s pop star Richard Marx.
After his set, Marx had a brief conversation with Harry, as seen in footage shared by his wife, Daisy Fuentes.
Daisy accidentally first tagged Prince William and her husband's official Instagram accounts. Catherine, Princess of Wales@princeandprincessofwales in place of Harry.
She later corrected the mistake and reposted the photo, tagging a fan-run account called “Prince Harry of England.”
Harry has not used Instagram since the @SussexRoyal account was inactive after he and Meghan stepped down as senior working royal members in 2020, and moved from the UK to the US, where they now live with their children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
In another moment, Richard failed to recognise Harry as he walked past him, as can be seen in the footage in the video player above.
Backstage staff had to prompt Richard, who then friendly acknowledged the Prince, “Hey! That's great.”

The prince will also meet conservation group African Parks, landmine charity The Halo Trust and Travelist in New York.
He is also scheduled to perform in the UK on September 30.
