“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega is getting dolls of her character, Wednesday Addams, in the hit Tim Burton Netflix series.
Mattel recently announced that two stylized dolls featuring Ortega as Wednesday Addams as part of the Monster High x Wednesday Collection.
One of the dolls features Wednesday in her Nevermore Academy uniform with Thing, a backpack and a stand, and the other features the character in her Rave’N Wednesday dress from the show’s iconic dance scene.
Also being released is a Monster High doll of Wednesday star Emma Meyers as Enid Sinclair. The dolls each retail for $40 and are available online with various online retailers.
In addition to Ortega’s Monster High Wednesday dolls, Mattel is offering a Mattel Creations Exclusive Paint it Black Fashion Pack.
The accessory set, which retails for $25, includes Wednesday’s skull print shirt dress, black stockings, platform sneakers, an oversized hoodie with Venus fly trap accents and zipper detail and a glossy black cello.
‘Wednesday’ Is The Most-Viewed Netflix Series Of All-Time
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday debuted on Netflix on November 23, 2022—which fell on a Wednesday—and became an instant smash for the streamer. Tim Burton directed four of the season’s eight episodes and is also an executive producer on the series.
To date, according to Netflix, Wednesday Season 1 is the most viewed series of all time on the streaming service, with 252.1 million views, which equates to 1.718 billion hours viewed.
Wednesday Season 2 was formally announced in May with a video featuring Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams and disembodied helper, Thing. Season 2 of the blockbuster series is expected to be released on Netflix sometime in 2025.
In between Wednesday Seasons 1 and 2, Burton, Gough and Millar have been busy , of course, working on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the long-awaited sequel to Burton’s 1988 original starring Michael Keaton in the title role.
Burton, naturally, is directing the sequel from a screenplay written by Gough and Millar from a story by Gough, Millar and Seth Grahame Smith.
In addition to Keaton reprising his role as Beetlejuice, the sequel also features the return of Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara as her stepmother, Delia, while Ortega is also starring in the sequel as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid.
Also starring Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux and Willem Dafoe, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released in theaters nationwide on September 6.
