Before you watch Bridgerton season 3 on May 16th, watch these 7 steamy, bodice-ripping period dramas on Netflix

It’s time to step back into the world of glittering ballrooms, scandalous affairs and Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton season three—with part one of the third season streaming on Netflix on 16 May. In the latest iteration, the lead couple spotlight will turn to the debonair Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and secretive wallflower Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), in what’s sure to be a captivating tale of romance, competition and (hopefully) lots of steam. After all, Bridgerton is a certified bodice-ripper, and going by statements made by the cast themselves—season three will live up to the hype. However, before you binge-watch the four episodes on Thursday itself, with part two following close on 13 June, here’s a list of seven other racy titles on Netflix that are full of sex, drama, mystery, politics and love.

Before Bridgerton season 3, watch these 7 steamy, bodice-ripping period dramas on Netflix

1. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Queen Charlotte is a Bridgerton spinoff, without the fluff. The storyline spans decades, flitting between two timelines—one headlining a young Charlotte navigating her tumultuous relationship with King George and her position in society, and the other in the present-day Bridgerton timeline, where she’s running the country with an iron fist. The steamy scenes between Charlotte and George are downright swoon-worthy.

2. Blood, Sex & Royalty
