Billie Eilish currently has two singles performing very well at pop radio in the U.S. That’s not terribly common, as it’s odd for programmers and DJs to put more than one tune from the same superstar into heavy rotation simultaneously…though the Grammy winner isn’t the first to manage the feat.
This week, Eilish nearly scores another top 10 hit as her latest single continues to climb on the Pop Airplay chart. The singer actually blocks her own smash with her previous focus tune as she lands back-to-back placements.
Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” lifts to No. 11 on this week’s Pop Airplay tally. The tune is one space away from reaching the highest tier on Billboard’s ranking of the most-played and most successful tracks at top 40 pop radio stations throughout the U.S.
“Birds of a Feather” has been flying on the Pop Airplay chart for two months now. Last frame, the cut sat down at No. 14, and No. 11 now stands as its highest placement on the list. In the coming weeks, it looks like the single will surely break into the top 10–if it can beat Eilish’s other current favorite.
The pop superstar also appears at No. 10 on the latest edition of the Pop Airplay list. Her single “Lunch,” which preceded “Birds of a Feather,” is a non-mover in tenth place on the roster. No. 10 is the first cut’s high point, and it may slip soon.
Throughout her career, Eilish has scored five top 10 hits on Billboard’s main pop radio chart. She’s ruled with “Bad Guy” and “Therefore I Am,” which both managed two frames on top. She has also landed inside the loftiest tier with “Everything I Wanted” (No. 5) and “What Was I Made For?” (No. 6).
“Birds of a Feather” was selected as the second single from Eilish’s latest album Hit Me Hard and Soft only a few weeks after the full-length dropped. The musician chose “Lunch” as the lead cut, but after a few frames, the public shifted their focus to another cut. Streaming and sales data told Eilish and her team to reallocate resources, and since then, “Birds of a Feather” has been rising on a number of radio rankings.
