Blue Lock Animator Breaks Silence on the Bad Animation Quality in Season 2

I worked on the second episode of Blue Lock and I’ll tell you why its animation was so bad. Several months ago, I started working on Blue Lock Season 2. In which I will be working on not just 1 episode or 2 or 3, but 5 episodes. I started working on the second episode, in which I had to be in charge of about 20 cuts, animating these scenes from scratch, i.e. the layouts.

But interestingly, the problems did not start at this point. I’m sure not only I but all the animators who worked on this episode did a poor job of what the end result was. Despite being underpaid and given less time, we did our best.

The animator claims that many of the frames and movements he worked on were removed or modified in the final cut. These problems, like in Jujutsu Kaisen in the past or in most anime, are a result of the production committee of some anime taking on projects thinking only about the money and not about the conditions of their workers. And that’s why I didn’t work on any more episodes of Blue Lock. Once I finished work on the second episode, I decided to branch out, and just as I thought, the end result was disastrous. This made it a task I’m not proud to upload.

For now, we can only hope that things will get better for artists working in the anime industry. Also, let’s hope that the upcoming episodes of Blue Lock season 2 will deliver good animation quality.
