A 17-year-old boy was shot on the grounds of an Upper West Side city-run housing development just blocks from Lincoln Center late Tuesday, cops said.
The teen was blasted once in the back on West 62nd Street near Amsterdam Avenue, on the grounds of NYCHA’s Amsterdam Houses on the Upper West Side, around 11:20 p.m., authorities said.
He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspected gunman, described as a man in his 20s last seen wearing a black shirt, gray sweatpants and gray and white sneakers, fled the scene and has not been caught.
The motive for the violence was under investigation Wednesday.
The shooting happened only hours after Mahki Brown, 16, was fatally gunned down outside SoHo’s swanky Dominick Hotel on Spring Street, cops said.
Brown, who lived in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and attended the nearby Broome Street Academy Charter High School, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops and sources said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Brown was the intended target, but sources said the gunfire may have erupted following a dispute between two groups of girls earlier that day.
