Trina McGee revealed she suffered a miscarriage after becoming pregnant at the age of 54.
The former “Boy Meets World” cast member shared the news on Monday's episode of “The Tamron Hall Show.”
“I lost the baby,” McGee said. Entertainment Weekly“It wasn't expected, it was near the end of the first quarter. We have no real reason.”
“I'm still so grateful for the experience of being able to conceive at this age and at this time,” McGee said.
The actress was expecting a baby with her husband Marcelo Thedford.
She has three children, Ramiya, 31, Langston, 29, and Ezra, 25. She shares her eldest two children with ex-husband Courtland Davis. The former couple split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.
“When you really want a family and you want your family to be complete, there's a lot of things that come up,” he told Tamron Hall. “You have a lot of dreams. It was hard to face the fact that it wasn't going to happen at this point.”
McGee said she suffered from “a lot of depression” after losing her baby and “had a hard time even getting out of bed.”
“A part of me never wants to go through this again,” she said. “I've come to the conclusion that we'll keep loving each other, so if something like this happens, it's OK, but I don't want to put any more worry on myself. Sometimes it's better to just let go and leave it to God.”
McGee announced her pregnancy In June.
“At the young age of 54 I found out I'm pregnant. Please give us your prayers for a safe delivery,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
The 'City Guys' actress reveals Entertainment Tonight In June she went to a holistic doctor to try and conceive, even though she was a year post-menopause. She also revealed that she and Thedford tried to conceive without interventions and considered using IVF, but decided against it.
On “The Tamron Hall Show,” McGee said she was “so excited” about her pregnancy that she announced it early.
“There are many women who want to get pregnant even at the age of 55 or above or do not want to fall into the 'old-age pregnancy' trap,” he said.
“I don't know if I'm here to give advice to everybody, because everybody's body is different, and you should listen to your doctors,” McGee said.
