Up for interpretation.
A news helicopter accidentally captured a mysterious spherical object passing over the Hudson River and Lower Manhattan.
In Last seconds of Fox 5 news report Broadcast on Monday, a spherical object or light can be seen in the crystal-clear New York sky making a winding path in the direction of the news helicopter, which was filmed from south of the Battery.
The sphere appears white in the distance and takes on a blue color as it gets closer to the camera.
The possible object outruns every boat on the Hudson and rapidly passes in front of the news helicopter.
It is not clear whether the sphere is a real-world object or a refraction of light on a lens or piece of glass.
Some of the world’s leading ufologists have expressed doubts about its real-world potential.
Theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and Harvard professor Avi Loeb believes the apparent orb is an artifact of the video.
“This is probably an optical artifact created by the helicopter glass in front of the camera, namely a bright spot from the reflection of sunlight as the camera slowly changes its orientation relative to the sun and the ground,” Avi Loeb told The Post.
Loeb concluded, “But even if it were a real object, the apparent speed is comparable to the speed of sound and not extraordinary.”
Tim Gallaudet, a retired Rear Admiral in the United States Navy and current CEO of Ocean STL Consulting, agreed with Dr. Loeb.
“For a number of reasons, it looks like an artifact and not actually a UAP,” Gallaudet told The Post.
A representative for “Good Day New York,” which originally aired the clip, told The Post that they were not able to identify when the clip was recorded — adding that it was likely within the past calendar year.
An unnamed source for “Good Day” opined that the orb is indeed a physical object – but is merely a drone that appears to move at incredible speed due to the helicopter’s movement in conjunction with the camera’s movement.
A similar “parallax effect” was used as an explainer for the famous “GOFAST” UAP FLIR radar video, which was Reportedly resolved by the Pentagon on Tuesday,
“Good Day” also confirms that the footage has not been tampered with by digital editors on their staff.
The sphere appears to be opaque – that is, it is not transparent or translucent.
This feature indicated to The Post’s photo experts that it was not a standard lens flare, which refracts light transparently onto the camera lens and also has a distinct aperture marking.
At the beginning of the video it appears the object passes in front of a building near Hoboken, New Jersey. A brief shadow appears on a building. The shadow trace is then picked up by the potential object or photographic vane.
The small point then rapidly crosses the tree line, and enters the airspace of the Hudson River, off New Jersey, along the lower Manhattan shoreline, and moves downstream toward the mouth of the bay.
The blur exhibits two distinct arching paths – first moving from left to right across the camera, then banking back to the left, intersecting the center of the frame – movement that can be described as directed.
If the alleged object originated in the sky around Hoboken and then proceeded to travel down the river, passing the tip of Manhattan, it would imply an incredible speed of 2,700 mph, making the object difficult to identify. . An area of pure speculation.
If the object, conservatively speaking, covered three miles in four seconds, its speed would be around 2,700 miles per hour.
This speed will be more than double the speed of the F18 fighter jet.
The strange scene was noticed by “Good Day New York” newsman Dan Bowens, who was at the desk with co-anchor Tashaniya Whitlow as Hayley Fixler’s segment aired.
Bowens posted a clip of the sphere making its winding path down the Hudson River on Instagram after Monday’s show.
“Anybody else see this on a good day?” emmy winner wrote in an Instagram story“What’s that? A balloon?”
Dan Bowens could not be reached for comment.
It appears that the object is not different other unknown Objects that have been reported around the world.
Last year, the Pentagon Radar footage released A metal sphere zooming through the controlled airspace of an active military area.
According to Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, former director of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the Army does not know what these objects are.
Just last week, members of Congress held a hearing where witnesses alleged secret crash recovery programCommunications with non-human intelligence, and government intimidation of UAP whistleblowers.
