A British mother and son spent just $150 on a day trip to Africa.
Melanie Evans, 42, thought spending a quick day in Morocco would be the best way to get a taste of the country to see if she liked it.
She landed in Agadir at 10am local time on a 5:45pm flight from Manchester with 12-year-old son Max – where they were immediately faced with 80-degree heat.
The couple had just seven hours for sightseeing before they caught a 9:35pm flight out of Agadir-Al Massira Airport on 30 November – landing in Manchester at 00:30am.
But there was enough time for the couple to see an impressive number of local sights.
Melanie, who has also done day trips to Barcelona, Milan, Dublin and Belfast, said the weather was a big draw for Morocco.
Melanie, a car salesman from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, said: “It was lovely to be with my little boy.
“We enjoyed the day, but one minute it felt like we were in Morocco; The next, we were at Aldi, shopping for food.
“As soon as we landed, we boarded a taxi and drove straight to the beach, where we enjoyed the coolness for a few hours.
“Then we took a cable car up to the Kasbah and had some lunch at McDonald’s.
“He was playing on the beach, which was nice to see and he loved it.”
She added: “I will be gone for a long time. “It was nice to get a little taste of what it’s like.”
