Jarring footage shows the moment a car crashed into a Georgia restaurant over the weekend while customers were enjoying their meal.
Fresca Trattoria owner Lisa Myers told Fox 5 Atlanta the vehicle crashed into her restaurant around 3 p.m. Saturday.
The restaurant, which is located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, specializes in Italian cuisine and was serving brunch at the time.
The footage shows a group of customers jumping from their seats and running away just two seconds before the car collided with their table.
Another surveillance camera recorded the car hitting the restaurant’s glass window and running over empty tables and seats.
There were no reports of deaths or injuries, although Myers said his daughter was nearly injured in the incident.
“The waitress, who is my daughter, was standing (where the car crashed) three minutes before the car came,” the restaurant owner told Fox 5. So, I’m just glad that he – everybody was OK.
The restaurant owner said he spoke to the driver of the vehicle, who said his brakes failed due to the gas pedal getting stuck.
Myers also told Fox 5 that she was unsure whether insurance would cover all the damage, and joked that the restaurant has become a new “drive-thru”.
“We would appreciate (customers),” Myers said. “We don’t know what the woman’s insurance covers and what doesn’t.”
On Sunday night, the restaurant posted a Facebook post thanking local community members for supporting the business following the incident.
“The windows are boarded up and the sky is overcast, but we’re loving the silver lining,” the post reads.
“No one was hurt, and the well wishes we have received from the community make us feel very grateful to be in Stone Mountain/Lilburn.”
Fox News Digital contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department and Fresca Trattoria for additional comment.
