Without a doubt, Cavuto is an icon of television journalism.
He reported on the 1987 stock market crash, wars, and IPOs.
He interviewed movie stars and presidents.
I had the opportunity to work closely with him, breaking news on his Fox Business and Fox News shows, and learning what fair and balanced journalism is.
He was the ultimate straight shooter.
Yes, when you did something he thought was wrong, he will let you know, as I can totally attest to.

He is 66 years old and has been battling health issues, though through it all, he worked full days and even on weekends.
My guess is that he’s not entirely satisfied with our profession – and that’s a very good thing.
A few years ago, I remember sharing with Neil that I had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Neil is also a cancer survivor.
He encouraged me to tackle this condition as he has been battling his own health issues for years. As a journalist, he informed viewers and readers of my Post column about the need for early detection, the treatments available and how they Explained how everyone saved my life.
