They’re the hap-hap-happiest!
On Monday, Christie Brinkley and Chevy Chase reunited 41 years after they hit the open road in 1983’s “National Lampoon’s Vacation.”
Brinkley, 70, took to Instagram to share a slew of car selfies of herself and Chase, 80.
“Vacation is always over too soon! @chevychase,” Brinkley captioned her post.
In one picture, the duo smiled together, while another showed Chase waving to the camera. In a third snap, the supermodel wrapped her arms around the “Fletch Lives” actor in a standing shot.
Rounding out the carousel was a video of them waving once more.
Fans flocked to the comments section to share their delight in the mini reunion.
One follower wrote, “Ahh yes! This is greatness. Perhaps a sequel? cue..holiday road,” while another user chimed in, “Ohhh love this. The funniest movie ever.”
Brinkley and Chase first captured viewers’ hearts in the 1983 comedy when Clark Griswold (Chase) and his wife, Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo), drove from Illinois to a California amusement park for a vacation with their two kids.
While Ellen was fast asleep in the passenger seat, a flirtatious Brinkley, who became known as “The Girl in the Ferrari,” zoomed between lanes and looked over at Chase’s character. Naturally, he found it hard to concentrate on the road.
The two later had a brief encounter in a bar, which led Ellen to catch her husband skinny-dipping in a pool with “The Girl in the Ferrari.”
And this wasn’t the first time Brinkley and Chase reunited in recent years.
The two captured their time together in a 2023 TikTok video, in which Brinkley and Chase have drinks at a bar.
“I’m in the mood for some fun,” the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model quipped, parodying her lines from “Vacation.”
The clip then transitioned to Chase and D’Angelo, 72, talking about Chase’s ability to hypnotize people.
The video concluded with the trio standing before the film’s original station wagon.
Meanwhile, Brinkley posed alongside Chase and D’Angelo for a picture in 2022.
Chase wrote beneath the Instagram shot, “The Three Amigos.”
“I just love them so much. It was so great to see them, and it was so much fun,” Brinkley confessed on “Today” that same year.
As for if the stars would ever team up for a sequel?
“We should. We really should,” the author told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush. “C’mon Chevy, let’s do it.”
