A disappointing new report reveals that 72% of Jewish college students in America feel “unwanted” on their campuses, while more than half have been victims of anti-Semitism.
The civil-rights group StopAntisemitism released a “report card” on how more than two dozen university campuses are addressing hatred against Jews and re-evaluated five other campuses previously classified by the organization.
Two schools in New York City – Cornell University The group said, and The New School was given an embarrassing “F” grade.
In other findings from the organization, Jewish students at the campuses surveyed revealed:
- 72% feel unwelcome in certain places on campus simply because they are Jewish.
- 52% had personally been victims of anti-Semitism in their schools.
- 67% feel their university did not do enough to protect Jewish students in the wake of Hamas’s massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023.

Another group, Alums for Campus Fairness, reported similar findings About anti-Semitism in August.
“Universities are failing their Jewish students, often leaving them unsafe and unsupported,” the StopAntisemitism report said.
The group said it was forced to triple the size of its organization to manage a recent flood of complaints about hatred against Jews – which it said had seen 3,000 anti-Semitic suggestions and presentations following the Israeli Holocaust. Described as a “tremendous” increase of %.
“Jewish students and professors were ambushed, harassed, followed, and physically attacked. “Mezuzahs have been torn from doors, and crowds of comrades have openly called for his death while chanting genocidal slogans,” the report said.
“These institutions enabled privileged mobs to commit some of the most brutal hate crimes seen on American soil since the civil rights era, and to target Jews with impunity.”
Whereas Cornell University And The New School in the Big Apple failed the survey, with Columbia University, the epicenter of hate in Manhattan, not given a rating this time, because the group changes the schools it examines each year.
However, in 2022, Colombia – The disgraceful site of some of the country’s most virulent anti-Semitic protests got a failing grade.
This year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brown University, Emerson College, the University of Oregon, the University of California-Davis and the University of Washington joined the group’s Hall of Shame and received an “F” grade.
Leora Raz, founder of StopAntisemitism, said, “Each year, we evaluate 25 new schools, and the findings unfortunately remain consistent: Institutions like Columbia – and many Ivy League and Ivy-adjacent schools – continue to fail their Jewish students. Keep.”
“Administrations across the country have made no meaningful efforts to ensure that Jewish students feel safe expressing their identity. This is not an isolated issue; This is a systemic failure of leadership.”
Cornell was blamed for several anti-Semitic incidents, including student patrick dai Jewish students were threatened with shooting and stabbing, and the campus’ kosher dining hall was attacked Professor of History Russell Rickford Expressed “encouraged” by the October 7 attack by Hamas terrorists.
In May, an 18-day illegal occupation also occurred, resulting in the suspension of six students.
The report said of Cornell, “Anti-Semitic demonstrations have disrupted much of campus life.”
StopAntisemitism researchers say on brass new school The university in Greenwich Village declined to participate, but students did.
“75% of students have experienced anti-Semitism, … 95% of students do not feel welcome in many places on campus. …83% of students would not recommend their school,” the report said.
“Notable events: Anti-Israel protesters and teachers from The New School occupy a building in protest.”
Three universities received “A” grades for being more supportive of Jewish students: Baylor, Clemson, and Elon.
Hofstra University on Long Island received a “C”, and Vassar College in upstate Poughkeepsie and Stanford were rated “D”.
